Type A Personality

I finally have a moment to sit here and write, a calm basically before the storm starts up once again. After this week of hell in October, I will be back to normal, and able to set a schedule. I swear there are never enough hours in a day, and that is exactly what I am going to talk about today.

If you have not already be able to tell from previous posts, I am a type A personality. If you take the definition off of Wiki, it states:

Individuals who are ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status-conscious, sensitive, impatient, take on more than they can handle, want other people to get to the point, anxious, proactive, and concerned with time management. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving “workaholics”, push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence.

Personally I think the only thing I let slide as a type A personality is my rooms cleanliness, because I prioritize deadlines above folding my clothes right away. I usually do a huge room clean each week (I know terrible habit, my boyfriend hates it). However in my mind it is one less thing to stress about.

From the definition above I can describe multiple scenarios where I fit each word that is associated with Type A. I am definitely sensitive, take on way too much on my plate, get anxious over deadlines, hate people and events that are not on time, and I put my self down heavily when I do not achieve what I wish. I have also learned to control my patient, but on the downside I feel like I punish myself more when I do not reach what I feel is my full potential.

I’ve been thinking about personalities for the past week, and have been categorizing people around me into the two types. It is quite hilarious when you take a step back and see how someone can fit so nicely into the definition.

Besides that I am finally on track with everything. I have been going nuts filling out my calendar and ensuring I have everything accounted for. I promise, more blogs to come. Now that the wave of stress is paused and everything around me is manageable, I am hoping to pre-write some web development and business portfolios. Thanks for sticking around, now time to go to class and then blog hop.

Hope you’re doing well in school! I haven’t seen any new post and wondered where you’ve been off to… Then realized, “oh yeah, school!!!”

I think the description of Type A personality covers you pretty well in ways where you’re organized, proactive, and good with time management. Oh! And being a high-achiever is good. It puts you ahead of the game ;). Even though you take a lot on your plate, remember that at the end of the day, you conquer them! So more power to you for that!

Honestly, I don’t know what kind of personality I am, but I like to think I’m everything from all worlds. I don’t think everyone is one personality but a mixture of many. We all get our good and bad points from personality types. I’m glad you managed to write this 😀

Oh god I’m type A, through and through. Went through type B:

“Type B personality, by definition, are noted to live at lower stress levels. They typically work steadily, and may enjoy achievement, although they have a greater tendency to disregard physical or mental stress when they do not achieve. When faced with competition, they may focus less on winning or losing than their Type A counterparts, and more on enjoying the game regardless of winning or losing.”

I have nothing of type B. I’m sure I have plenty of friends who wish I could just enjoy a game, rather then being so competitve. lol
